Our Practice
The goal of Dr. Peter Schlegel’s practice, NY Men’s Health Medical, is to provide the best possible medical care for men, including maintenance of men’s health, as well as treatment of complex male infertility issues, especially the most severe forms of male infertility, such as azoospermia. We also work to improve fertility treatment for couples with severe male infertility.

Meet Our Exceptional Staff
Dr. Peter Schlegel
Dr. Schlegel is an experienced urologist who has been internationally recognized for his contributions to medical care for men with a series of Men’s Health issues from male infertility to prostate cancer. He served as Chair of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical Center for over 19 years, bringing that Department to recognition as the #5 urology department in the US, as ranked by US News and World Report. He was also Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Cornell and has served as President of numerous medical societies as well as receiving a series of international and national awards. His focus is on providing the best medical care possible for Men’s Health issues, as well as taking care of patients who may not have had successful treatment with other physicians.
Kathleen Hart, RN
Kathleen Hart, RN, is an experienced clinical nurse who has dealt with Men’s Health issues as well as couples being treated for severe male infertility for decades, providing support, direction and coordination of care for Dr. Schlegel’s patients. She works closely with referring physician’s offices as well as reproductive medicine specialists to optimize care. Ms. Hart also coordinates medication management including medication/injection instruction and other support for optimal administration of medications. Her direct phone line is (646) 661-5524.
Stephanie Nieves
Stephanie is an experienced senior medical office team member with 17 years of experience supporting urologic patient care in my previous practice. She joined NY Mens Health Medical in July 2024 as an Office Manager. She is highly effective at coordinating appointments and surgical procedures to optimize patient’s experience and care. Tony Gasalberti
Mr. Gasalberti is a certified ultrasonographer with extensive urologic imaging experience and expertise who is an independent contractor, supporting ultrasound procedures done at our 983 Park Avenue site.
